Transfer Season Heats Up – Part 2: Man united, Spurs, Liverpool in transfer news

Since FIFA has given an "additional Transfer window" to clubs between 1st June to 10th June to register players before the Club World Cup, things in the Transfer Market are heating up.

We discussed about certain players previously, but things have changed significantly. Some clubs are heavily accelerating while some clubs are yet to make moves.

BRYAN MBEUMO TO MANCHESTER UNITED

Manchester United have already signed Matheus Cunha and now they are going for Bryan Mbeumo, at the time of writing this the first bid of United has been rejected, but it is clear as of now that that Mbeumo wants Man United.
Firstly this will be a great signing, Mbeumo had a fantastic season with Brentford, he scored 20 goals in the Premier League this season and was fourth in the top scorer list along with Chris Wood. He also had 7 assists.
He generally plays on the right wing for Brentford under Thomas Frank, but under Amorim in the 3-4-2-1 formation he would probably be in the 10 position with Cunha, in 3-4-3 he probably would be at right wing.
He will definitely add that much needed firepower for Man United in their attack.

ANGE POSTECOGLOU GETS SACKED BY TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR

I was absolutely stunned when I first read this, this is very shocking. I understand Spurs finished 17th in the Premier League, but we also have to look at the fact that in such a bad season as well Ange delivered a trophy, a trophy they were longing for 17 years, he literally won them the final with some of their main players being injured for the final.
This is literally the most Spurs thing to do, I remember Spurs sacking Jose Mourinho just before a cup final.
I mean you have to give time to the manager who won you the trophy after 17 years , for me personally this is a very bad move especailly for the image of the director and board.

BENJAMIN SESKO TO ARSENAL

So it seems like Arsenal want to close this deal as soon as possible. Including Arsenal several clubs have been tracking Sesko for a few years now.
His athleticism for his height is brilliant.
His numbers are good as well, no one can deny that Sesko is an exceptional talent. The striker position is probably the only missing piece in Mikel Arteta's team, we have seen previously that Arsenal lack that presence in the squad who can score goals, so this could be the signings that takes them to Premier League glory.

RASMUS HOJLUND TO INTER

Rasmus Hojlund had a pretty rough season with Manchester United where he seems heavily underconfident. Even before the season ended there were talks of Hojlund leaving and most of the links were from Itlay which makes sense. Hojlund had his breakthrough season in Italy and it would be a logical move for him to go back there to gain some confidence.
Also the pressure on him in Italy would be significantly less than at Man United.

RAYAN AIT NOURI TO MANCHESTER CITY

Well these links have been coming for a while now and it seems that Man City really wanted Rayan Ait Nouri, and according to almost all reliable news outlets, City have sealed the deal.
Ait Nouri is a fantastic player he plays as a wing back for Wolves and has been very solid, so this was a very good signing.
Man City has already wrapped up Tijjani Reijnders and now Ait Nouri, they are going for Rayan Cherki s well, so they are definitely moving in the right direction this transfer window.

ALEJANDRO GARNACHO LEAVES MANCHESTER UNITED

According to Fabrizio Romano and other journalists, it is confirmed that Garnacho will be leaving Man United.

In my opinion whatever happened after the Europa League final in terms of the post match interviews and other things, it will be in favour of both parties to part ways with each other.

There was interest from Napoli in the January transfer window but things could not materialise at that time, right now it seems Napoli are not interested.

However other Premier League clubs and apparently Leverkusen are interested in Garnacho so it will be interesting to see what happens next.

FRANCO MASTANTUONO TO REAL MADRID

So Real Madrid have scouted another young talent from South America. They have really extended their scouting network in there, Vinicius, Rodrygo, Endrick and now Franco.
I will be honest, I have never seen him play so I dont really know about his play style , it will be interesting to see how much game time he gets at Madrid.

JAMIE GITTENS TO CHELSEA

So recently this news has come out that Chelsea have made an offer for Jamie Gittens and have place a bid of around 30-35 million.
(I had actually mentioned about Gittens getting a transfer to a big club in my list of players who could get a big move and could be next big thing, read that article here).

Gittens obviously has had a good season and there were previous links, he is a great in 1v1 situations, good shooting, he has 3.88 successful dribbles per 90 and 51% dribble success rate which are among the best, but my question is will he be a starter for Chelsea, only time will tell that, off the bench he will 100% be a fantastic weapon.
I personally think he will be a fit for Enzo Maresca's system and will do well in a team that likes to hold the ball and can do it well. Also he will be playing with Palmer, Neto and Delap who are players with whom he can really elevate his game, if his link up play is good Chelsea can be really dangerous on that wing.
The challenges he could face is that the level defending and physicality is higher in the Premier League than in the Bundesliga.

VICTOR OSHIMEN TO AL HILAL

So many journalists have started reporting about this and also about the fact that verbal agreement is in place with Napoli.
Victor Oshimen has not responded to the offer or has said yes according to reports and I hope he does not, I  really do want to see him in Europe in some top club because I feel he is a top class striker and can offer so much, but again the fact is that the kind of money Al Hilal is probably offering him would be tough to reject.

Those were some of the transfers that I wanted to talk about and discuss, out of these some even might get materialised by the time this article comes out. For examples,
At the time of releasing this Man City has not officially confirmed Ait Nouri but already many outlets and journalists have confirmed the deal is done.
It will be interesting to see what other deals are completed before the Club World Cup.

Why Defending the Champions League Title Is So Rare: A Look at the Past 20 Seasons

INTRODUCTION We all know that the UEFA Champions League is the greatest club competition of all time, and it is the hardest to win as well. We hv the Champions league final coming up in a few days: PSG VS INTER. These are relatively new teams(of course Inter is playing 2nd final in 3 years but still).  But I had a question hwo often does it happen that the winner retains the title and does that club perform on a similar level. Well we all know that Real Madrid have won three titles in a row in the seasons 2015-16, 2016-17 and 2017-18. We are going to look at the last 20 Champions league winners and see how teams fared next season. In the last 20 Champions League campaigns, Real Madrid have been the most successful club winning it on 6 occasions and the ONLY team to defend the title in the last 20 UCL campaigns when they did a 3 peat as mentioned earlier. In fact they are the ONLY club in the Champions League era(when it was renamed to Champions league from European Cup) to e...

While the limelight remains glued to the typical superstars, there's a whole cast of footballers who've been putting in performances that deserve great accolades, yet go under the radar. These are the guys who don't always go viral on social media but without whom their team would be half as good. They make the hard tackles, set the pace, make intelligent passes, and open up space for the stars to sparkle. They might not chalk up crazy goal counts, but they add balance, brains, and grit to every game. Be it a full-back shutting down world-class wingers week in and week out, a midfielder who quietly dominates the match, or a striker who labors tirelessly off the ball—these underappreciated players are the pillars ...
