Manchester United vs Chelsea:post match review and reaction

CHELSEA:1   UNITED:0

Lineups: Well, this was quite an important match for Chelsea as they are chasing Champions Leauge football, so it was kind of expected they play their stars, however it is safe to say Manchester United's Pl season is over and everyone was surprised to see Ruben Amorim starting almost his full strength team.

The first half from Man United was not particularly bad, it was not that good either, Harry Mguire's goal was ruled offside and it was very close. Harry Maguire is actually quite good at those crosses and set pieces for Man United, and the fact that a centre back is the biggest threat for a team that's a red flag

Rasmus Hojlund had a terrible terrible match.

Chelsea deservedly won the match.

If we look at stats

Man united had just 1 shot on target while chelsea had 3, Chelsea had created three big chances while United had 0

Especially after Chelsea scored that goal they just absolutely dominated the game United were out and seemed they were completely demotivated.

Talking about that goal it was a beautiful goal, picture perfect play.

Reece James with a good turn and great cross into the box for Cucurella who was in the right position. An important thing I noticed here was that it was a right back's cross for a left back so Chelsea did commit quite a few players in the box.

For United, Amad did a try but he was being doubled up and had a tough game but I feel he just returned and it was not just his day, he still took a good shot cutting inside.

Dorgu did well penetrating quite a few times but his crosses are not up to the mark and he has got to improve on that and he eventually will he is just 20 but it is also important to understand that good wing backs are an integral part of Amorim's system.

A major problem with Manchester United is that players just are not able to receover when they concede a goal, and thats what happened today, I just did not see any type pf urgency from Manchester United when they conceded, their seems to be a lack of communication between the defense, the defense seems sloppy, we could see Cole Palmer lurking in and around the box freely.

You could see United players loosing their players on crosses, like on one of cole palmer's cross mazroui lost his marker(I think it was enzo fernandez) which almost led to to a goal, Mazroui however was overall solid but could have done more going forward I feel. Caicedo also absolutely bossed Mna United's midfield today.

This is now Manchester Unied's 18th loss this season and have -12 gd. As for Chelsea this is a big step towards their UCL hopes, I think overall this is oneof the most interesting top 5 races in recent years.

But I think what United fans and players need to do right now is calm down and be optimistic for the big Europa League final.

Why Defending the Champions League Title Is So Rare: A Look at the Past 20 Seasons

INTRODUCTION We all know that the UEFA Champions League is the greatest club competition of all time, and it is the hardest to win as well. We hv the Champions league final coming up in a few days: PSG VS INTER. These are relatively new teams(of course Inter is playing 2nd final in 3 years but still).  But I had a question hwo often does it happen that the winner retains the title and does that club perform on a similar level. Well we all know that Real Madrid have won three titles in a row in the seasons 2015-16, 2016-17 and 2017-18. We are going to look at the last 20 Champions league winners and see how teams fared next season. In the last 20 Champions League campaigns, Real Madrid have been the most successful club winning it on 6 occasions and the ONLY team to defend the title in the last 20 UCL campaigns when they did a 3 peat as mentioned earlier. In fact they are the ONLY club in the Champions League era(when it was renamed to Champions league from European Cup) to e...

Hidden Gems of 2025:Most underrated and overlooked players this season

INTRODUCTION- In a campaign packed with breathtaking goals, record-breaking statistics, and super-stardom controversy, it's easy to forget the unsung heroes—the players who don't grab the headlines but are indispensable every time they put on their boots. While the limelight remains glued to the typical superstars, there's a whole cast of footballers who've been putting in performances that deserve great accolades, yet go under the radar. These are the guys who don't always go viral on social media but without whom their team would be half as good. They make the hard tackles, set the pace, make intelligent passes, and open up space for the stars to sparkle. They might not chalk up crazy goal counts, but they add balance, brains, and grit to every game. Be it a full-back shutting down world-class wingers week in and week out, a midfielder who quietly dominates the match, or a striker who labors tirelessly off the ball—these underappreciated players are the pillars ...
