Best Transfer Businesses of this season: The best deals and value for money signings

 INTRODUCTION

Transfer market is really a very unpredictable place. It is a break or make situation for clubs. It is important to sign good player but it is even more important to sign them at the right prices, especially in this era where financial fair play rules are so strict.

Some clubs have historically have suffered the consequences of not acting smartly in the transfer market, Manchester United is probably the best example, they have been over paying for players for quite some time now and now they have realised about their mistakes.

Most clubs come in the market with a proper strategy, because if you dont you will end up paying a big price in the long run. For example Real Madrid try to sign players when they become Free Agents, that is when their current contract expires so that they will not have to pay huge fees to the parent club.

So here are some of the best deals that clubs were able to crack this season-

DEAN HUIJSEN

AFC Bournemouth got the 20 year old Dean Huijsen for a reported 13 million pounds, and thats's literally a bargain price for him as he is one the best young defenders in the world. Bournemouth just struck a deal with spanish giants Real Madrid for 50 million pounds, that's a profit of 37 million in just a year. Juventus really missed  big opportunity.
Huijsen is among the best in terms of interception per 90, clearances per 90 and blocks per 90, and on top of that his ball playing abilities are ELITE. It will be really interesting to see him in the Real Madrid backline in Xabi Alonso's system.
Overall that was great business from Bournemouth.

HUGO EKITIKE

PSG did not really work out for Hugo Ekitike, so he made a move to Germany to Eintracht Frankfurt. The reported fee was between 10 to 16 million.
And now Ekitike is delivering.
15 goals and 8 assists in the Bundesliga and the most number of successful dribbles, Ekitike has been a real deal for Eintracht Frankfurt.
And he is making headlines in Chelsea Transfer news and rumours.
The amount that Frankfurt is asking is around 60 to 70 million according to several reports, and if Frankfurt can pull that off that's serious business right there.

SCOTT MCTOMINAY

Napoli bought Scott Mctominay for about 25-30 million pounds according to reports, and oh boy what a signing he has turned out to be for them.
He has scored 12 goals and assisted 4 and been a fantastic player overall.
And also produced an iconic moment, in the last match he scored a bicycle kick(or perhaps a scissors kick) to win the Serie A for Napoli.

MOISE KEAN

Fiorentina got Moise Kean from Juventus for about 10-13 million pounds according to reports and since hen he has been on a red hot form. Kean has all the attributes to be a proper no.9, he has scored 19 goals, assisted 3, he has 0.63 goals per game(one of the highest in the league) and has highest shots on target per 90- 1.90.

ANTONY

Antony was having a disastrous season at Manchester United, he was being criticized left right and centre and was under immense scrutiny, but then he moved to Real Betis on loan in January this season, and he has really found his form back in Spain.
He has provided 7 goal contributions in 17 matches in La Liga and.
And on top of that he has, in the 8 matches he has played in conference league he has 4 goals and 3 assists.
And if that was not enough almost all the goals he has scored are literal BANGERS.
So yeah he has turned it around for himself.

NOUSSAIR MAZROUI

Yeah, I know Manchester United has had probably the worst season in their history, but still that does not change the fact that Mazroui has been great.
The reported transfer fee is between 15 to 20 million pounds.
Mazroui has being playing on the right wing back and on right centre back position and has looked pretty solid in my opinion.

MAXENCE LACROIX

Maxence Lacroix is 25 year old French Defender.
He signed for Palace this season, as per reports Crystal Palace payed Wolfburg around 15 million pounds for his services.
And it is safe to say Lacroix has not disappointed, he has been really solid in defense in the 3 man backline that Oliver Glasner plays at Crystal Palace.
He has a great aerial presence and is a proper centre back, he is a really impressive player for 15 million pounds.

ALVARO CARREAS

So Alvaro Carreas came from Manchester United's academy, but he could not get much game time there so he made a move to Portuguese club Benfica who reportedly paid around 6 million pounds.
Alvaro actually developed into a very solid full back in Portugal. Stats-wise as well he is doing pretty good, he is among the best in terms of accurate long balls and recoveries per 90.
It was a great move for him because it was the right club for him to develop, he would be under immense scrutiny and pressure in United which could have hindered his progress.
Real Madrid are reportedly now want him, if that happens by the way not only Benfica but also Man United will benefit because they have a sell on clause according to reports.

CONCLUSION

So that was a list of some of the best deals of this season, in my opinion German clubs are really good at scouting and then selling those players for big money to other big clubs. In this era where the transfer fees are sky high, I feel having a good academy is very important, we can see that in the form of FC Barcelona, they have probably the best academy in the world and they are producing elite level players left right and centre. But yeah if you have reached till here thank you so much.

Why Defending the Champions League Title Is So Rare: A Look at the Past 20 Seasons

INTRODUCTION We all know that the UEFA Champions League is the greatest club competition of all time, and it is the hardest to win as well. We hv the Champions league final coming up in a few days: PSG VS INTER. These are relatively new teams(of course Inter is playing 2nd final in 3 years but still).  But I had a question hwo often does it happen that the winner retains the title and does that club perform on a similar level. Well we all know that Real Madrid have won three titles in a row in the seasons 2015-16, 2016-17 and 2017-18. We are going to look at the last 20 Champions league winners and see how teams fared next season. In the last 20 Champions League campaigns, Real Madrid have been the most successful club winning it on 6 occasions and the ONLY team to defend the title in the last 20 UCL campaigns when they did a 3 peat as mentioned earlier. In fact they are the ONLY club in the Champions League era(when it was renamed to Champions league from European Cup) to e...
