The wait is over-PSG ARE CHAMPIONS OF EUROPE- post match REACTION AND REVIEW

PSG ARE FINALLY THE CHAMPIONS OF EUROPE

PSG 1  -  INTER 0

So in an absolutely dominating fashion Paris Saint Germain(PSG) have defeated Inter Milan in the UEFA Champions League final with a scoreline of 5-0. PSG beat Inter Milan in one of the most dominating performances in UEFA Champions league history, with Desire Doue, Achraf Hakimi, khvicha kvaratskhelia and Senny Mayulu on the scoresheet(Desire Doue scored two goals.)

I mean that's a flex in itself, winning a Champions League Final 5-0 is just crazy work. What a moment its is for PSG as a club, they tried evrerything to achieve this feat, they literally got Messi, Neymar and Mbappe but still could not do it, they came close on numerous occasions but could never win it but now they have finally done it.
In my last article I talked about how previous champions League finals have been low scoring and we don't get to see many goals these days in UCL finals, but oh my god, never in my wildest dreams I thought PSG would put 5 past against Inter Milan.
Yes, we can talk about all the tactics and game plans but this season was will always be remembered for all storylines.

Talking about the match itself, PSG just ran through Inter who were just non existent and never really got into the game.
PSG from minute one looked like they wanted to win the game.
Psg players' physicality and athleticsm was absolutely amazing to watch, there were moments where I saw Acharaf Hakimi who is a Right Back by the way went all the way on opposite side on Kvaratskhelia wing to win the ball, another exapmple is in that 3rd goal of of Desire Doue, Inter were the ones attacking, the ball was going out of play, and Nicolo Barella was on the ball, then William Pacho made a run and beautifully won the ball back and started the counter attack.
Inter Milan looked completely hopeless, and their defending was just abysmal, in that first goal Achraf Hakimi was just standing there in the middle of the box, no Inter Milan defender marking him, also that assist from Doue for that goal, just flawless. The second goal was kinda unlucky but overall great play from PSG. Dimarco had a very poor game to be honest. Inter did create one or two chances from the corner, but they could not make one clear cut big chance, their Xg(expected goals) from open play was just 0.26.

Inter's midfield was just absent throughout the game, Fabian Ruiz, Vitinha and Joao Neves just too good, we could see Dembele as usual dropping in too. We could see all types of rotations in that PSG team.
Also one thing I really want to mention is Kvarastskhelia's insane work rate, he showed that in the Arsenal tie as well, just constantly tracking back and supporting Nuno Mendes, what a fantastic player and athlete.
PSG were so smooth when they were moving the ball forward it was just so graceful, Luis Enrique has made a fabulous team and these young players have excelled under Enrique.

Luis Enrique has now won a treble with two teams, ten years ago he won a treble with Bracelona and now with Paris Saint Germain, what a master tactician.

As for Inter Milan, its is extremely disappointing, I mean many people would have thought that PSG are favourites but nobody would have even imagined that PSG will dominate inter and win 5-0.

The Munich tgheroy also stands true, if anyone dosen't know, whenever a Champions League final has happened in Munich, we get to see a new team lift the trophy and that has happened again.

One player that I am really happy for is Marquinhos, he has been at the club for 12 years now and has lost two finals, but now has finally completed his trophy cabinet and won everything he could with PSG.

Also how could we not talk about the wall of PSG, Gianluigi Donnarumma, he did not have much work to do in this match but oh boy he has produced sensational performances this season, the tie against Arsenal and the second leg against Liverpool and that penalty shootout in that match, just awesome goalkeeping.

A night to remember for for the 19 year old Desire Doue as well, 2 goals and an assist in a Champions league final? that's no joke and to do that at 19 years of age, that's incredible.

Ousmane Demebele another player with a crazy season and now that he has won the Champions League he has to be in a serious contention for the Ballon d'or, he has 40+ goals and assits this season, he has successfully revived himself after an extremely tough time at Barcelona.

With that being said lets talk a little more about Inter Milan,

Yes, it was a terrible final for them, but I would still say that Simione Inzaghi has led them to 2 finals in 3 years and that's quite impressive.
This season particularly will hurt them, at one point they were in contention for the treble, first they lost the Coppa Italia semi final to their city rivals AC Milan, then lost the Serie A title to Napoli by just one point, and the otughest of them all, they have now lost the Champions League final in a very humiliating fashion to PSG.

Talking specifically about their display in the final, this was probably one of the worst performances in a Champions League final. We really don't see scorelines like 5-0 in a UCL final, Marcus Thuram did try to create something on some occasions by holding up play but Inter just never took the field.
Also this Inter squad is an Ageing one, so i guess there will be new signings and some departures, this will be a very tough pill to swallow for Inter Milan's fans, players and for Simione Inzaghi.

Finally, all I would like to say that at the start of the season none of us would have thought that the Champions League final will be between PSG and Inter Milan and PSG will win it but here we are and that's the beauty of football.

Why Defending the Champions League Title Is So Rare: A Look at the Past 20 Seasons

INTRODUCTION We all know that the UEFA Champions League is the greatest club competition of all time, and it is the hardest to win as well. We hv the Champions league final coming up in a few days: PSG VS INTER. These are relatively new teams(of course Inter is playing 2nd final in 3 years but still).  But I had a question hwo often does it happen that the winner retains the title and does that club perform on a similar level. Well we all know that Real Madrid have won three titles in a row in the seasons 2015-16, 2016-17 and 2017-18. We are going to look at the last 20 Champions league winners and see how teams fared next season. In the last 20 Champions League campaigns, Real Madrid have been the most successful club winning it on 6 occasions and the ONLY team to defend the title in the last 20 UCL campaigns when they did a 3 peat as mentioned earlier. In fact they are the ONLY club in the Champions League era(when it was renamed to Champions league from European Cup) to e...

While the limelight remains glued to the typical superstars, there's a whole cast of footballers who've been putting in performances that deserve great accolades, yet go under the radar. These are the guys who don't always go viral on social media but without whom their team would be half as good. They might not chalk up crazy goal counts, but they add balance, brains, and grit to every game. Be it a full-back shutting down world-class wingers week in and week out, a midfielder who quietly dominates the match, or a striker who labors tirelessly off the ball—these underappreciated players are the pillars ...
